I have two son's who are physicians.

Stay away from doctors. They will kill you.

Regards,

Jim Mahoney

That's sad to hear.

I have a special empathy for Jim's passing since I had the pleasure to
staying with he and Rae at their beautiful home at Cameron Airpark. The
pleasure too of taking his beautifully built KR-2 for it's first flights.
It was an excellent flyer and needed no tweaking, his work had been so
meticulous.

Jim and vivacious wife Rae were the picture of health when I met them.
Later, Jim let a doctor talk him into doing a knee replacement. He was
physically of normal weight, probably 165. He had normal movement and
had no complaints of any pain but perhaps he later developed a stiff
knee. I've got some slight arthritic build-up in my thumb joints and
occasionally my right shoulder acts up a bit, especially with the
atypically wet and chilly winter we've had in San Diego - one which still
goes on. As I write this it's in the 50's and raining . . . middle of
May! I think stiff joints happen to all of us as we age and some of us
with good insurance may be too quick to take advantage of the unholy
alliance between insurance and the medical industry. Jim was one of
those. I found and find it hard to believe the healthy person I met
needed a knee replacement but not long after I met him he went in for the
knee replacement and that was his undoing, and that of Rae as well. When
I saw them at the McMinnville Gathering they both seemed to have aged
thirty years and their lives had been ruined. Perhaps Rae had suffered
even more than Jim since following the initial disaster of having the
operation it had fallen on her to tend to everything, having to
physically do for Jim everything that he couldn't do for himself.

In some cases doctors can be of value but in many cases they do far more
harm than good. Same for dentistry. Those who adhere religiously to the
"standard of care" promoted by the AMA and ADA are consciously or
unconsciously participating in what is in many cases simply a money
extraction system. They frequently do not have their patients' best
interest at heart. In Jim's case, he had a slight infection on his arm
from some yardwork scratch yet the surgeon, simply to avoid adjusting his
schedule, proceded with the surgery anyway. Jim and Rae "knew" it would
have been prudent to wait until his arm infection had healed before
exposing his body's immune system to the stress of a knee operation, but
the surgeon's wish to not alter his schedule prevailed in their decision
and their lives, Jim and Rae's, turned into a horror that can only be
imagined.

We can learn from what happened to Jim and Rae. What I suggest we learn,
for those who might be tempted to blindly trust the medical/dental
cartels, is to have more confidence in the innate wisdom of our own good
sense supplemented with carefully sifted information available through
mankind's most recent technological miracle - the internet. Blind
belief in anything, especially industrial medicine, can be deadly.
Doctors can sometimes work miracles . . . emphasis is on the word
"sometimes". In Jim's and Rae's case, they wrought disaster.
