This week I am did my first solo and can tell you....the feeling is great! I smile from ear to ear hihihih Our plane has now 6 hours on his wings so here is a small first result. Most of the testing I did togeter with my test pilot. This week I did fly the plane from EHTE (with my safety pilot) to the gras strip EHMZ. A trip from about 100 miles. Was great to do! Below some info but I will give you more details If the plane is compleet ready with his test fase. Engine--BMW 1200 GS Prop-- woodcomp 160CM electr variable pitch 18.5 till 32 degr but not a constant speed computer on it . Wheel fairings are not on at this fase. Flying. Plane is good to fly, reacts as a fighter plane. The BMW engine runs very smooth I have some cooling problems with the engine, so full throttle can be done for 1 min, than it runs hot. If we fly traight and level the temp is still high but acceptible. So Next week I will install a new and bigger oil cooler. Stall speed with 2 persons About 530 kg tow is about the 42 kts. My bird wil not drop a wing or drop the nose, only vibrations in the tail and than it starts very slow to decent. Take off roll is short I need to check it. Take off climb is unbelievable, I saw with 2 persons mtow (546 KG) 1500 ft a minute. In my first solo I think I have seen 2200ft with 60kts . So before the engine is hot I am at circuit level.... Cruise speed I do not have that much info because the engine is running hot if asking more load from the engine. 1850 (Prop)RPM is 115 KTS with I think 22 dgr prop. If I put a bit more power on it is accelerate very quick to 130 but getting hot. Max (prop)RPM is 2600 so I think the numbers will be higher. Landing I do with 70 kts downwind, full flaps short final 60. So now we doing maintanance, replacing the cooler from 13 row to a 19 row, and I have to make a lift to hang our plane in the hangar to the ceiling. If I have more info I willl let you know.
