Controllers are required to speak "English", not southern slang, even
in the south. In your moment of panic you were hoping they would
communicate in your native tongue. No "breaker, breaker 19, this is
KR Daddy here, copy?" for aircraft control.

I'm probably showing my age here but for those that have never traveled
the American interstate with a CB radio, that's trucker talk. I haven't
listened for 20 years but I'm betting they are still out there.
