So I flew this morning and as I always do I engaged the ram air at 100 mph and 
500 ft and watched the AFR.  As always the AFR showed no change so I leveled 
off at 1000ft and went back to filter air and then back to ram air, again no 
change.  I really think the airflow straightener is the secret.  Manifold 
pressure went up about .5 to .75 in Hg each time.  This is consistent with what 
I saw on with the Ellison.  The engine tone changes too after switching to ram 
air.
