Relax, KRNetters... I'm just spreading an April Fool's Day rumor about Langford's KR ;o) I remember the first time I saw a post from Mark to the Net saying he was parting out his plane after an engine crank break or something, only to find out that it was going to be a regular April Fool's thing for him and he had the plane back in the shop, undergoing repairs and with no thought of selling it. Even knowing that, he still snuck up on some of us a couple of more years before we caught on. This year there wasn't a single April Fool's prank from anyone here that I'm aware of. Today, John Bouyea sent me a bogus-sounding text about him flying a fantastic round-robin flight in his RV around NW Oregon, covering lots of miles and overflying lots of airports all in two hours in gorgeous CAVU weather. I knew he was pulling my leg though. (Or was he-?) ;o)
It is definitely flying time out here in southern Oregon, for sure! It'll be awhile yet for my plane, although the fuel system and 12V power backbone from the battery and master contactor are nearing completion and some work firewall forward is in progress as far as sensors, senders, and transducers for the Electronics International remote EIS inputs that feed into the GRT Horizon EFIS. Brackets for the autopilot servos on the floor behind the seat are ready for installation and wiring of the servos. There are two mottos in play as I work on the plane. (1) "Do it right the first time and you'll only have to do it once", and (2) "Perfect is the enemy of good enough." It's a delicate balance but I am determined to finish and fly this nifty airplane. Happy spring, y'all! Oscar Zuniga Medford, OR KR 1-1/2 "Sunbeam", in restoration
