We still intentionally put test cases into a separate gate. This is to allow for independent regression tests, and for tests that take a long time to run or (in some cases, obviously not this one) require special hardware or configuration. The test code doesn't belong in ON, so, yes, you are going to get opposition to a plan that includes integrating it. It'd be far better if the folks helping you with the integration could segregate the test code out and put it back to one of the test gates instead. If it's not neatly separable, then you might get some to grudgingly go along, but only if it's very fast and perfectly reliable. I doubt that Danek or anyone else on the gate team would tolerate something that causes builds to fail intermittently. -- James Carlson, KISS Network <james.d.carlson at sun.com> Sun Microsystems / 1 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677
