Description
RFE: Add "shcomp" (ksh93 shell script compiler) and a kernel module
("shbinexec") to exec binary shell code (similar to the javaexec kernel module
which calls the "java" frontend for executable *.jar files).
"shcomp" has several purposes:
- Compile shell scripts into a more compact (but still
platform/machine-independent) binary format which speeds-up parsing&&execution
- Generate l10n catalogs from ksh93 scripts (using the "-D" option)
- Do extended checking for obsolete or non-portable shell constructs which may
cause trouble (e.g. some kind of mini-"lint" for ksh shell scripts)
