Could you point me to one, please ? I did check some of the packages and didn't
find one which either replaces or patches the upstream one.

Since the upstream script is "supposed" to work with both Bourne shell and
POSIX shells it should be a bug filed at upstream (as said Linux only does not
suffer from this problem only because /bin/ and /usr/bin/ are seperate
directories).

Erm... no since the matching behaviour is POSIX-conformant behvaiour. Changing
this would blow-up lots of other stuff and ksh93-integration has "delivering a
POSIX conformant shell" somewhere written down in stone as project goal.
