Hi everybody,
some people might know that Julian and I have attended the Desktop
Summit 2011 event in Berlin, Germany. On the summit we have had
discussions and also did a short ktechlab hacking sessions.
I'm sending my notes from the discussion below, in order to keep
everybody up-to-date.
Todo:
- wiki
- news section needed
- also old news section?
- screenshots needed, from latest builds and stable version
- update documentation
- clean up the pages: development, getting the source, and so
on... it's currently messy
- offline editing the wiki? investigate this possibility
- roadmap needed
- readme on github
- introduction
- resources
- mailing list
- irc
- wiki
- sf.net ...
- git
- branches
- build instructions
- dependencies
- install instructions
- run/test instructions
- use buildservice from suse
- try to package and test
- ktechlab preview binaries
- install along 0.3 series
- package maintainers: what is better for them
- better communication with packagers and maintainers
- search in various bugtrackers for ktechlab, including distributions
bugtrackers
- fix stuff that annoys people
- document the object relations
technical:
- architecture: pictures added
-
Done:
- too old docs: pictures are useful, the rest is not
- done, in the repository
At some point I will put the notes below to a publicly available
location (wiki, github?).
Have a nice afternoon,
Zoltan
