Ubuntu | kpdf

Summary: kpdf not displaying certain files
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kpdf
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
         QAContact: [email protected]

As an example, please download then view this file:
http://ifarchive.org/if-archive/infocom/compilers/inform6/manuals/designers_manual_4.pdf

What happens is that it opens up a window where you can see all the pages, but
they just have the big black "X" across all of them (like they were still busy
being rendered). This goes on indefinitely. If I close kpdf, it does close, but
there's still a process for it hogging up 100% of CPU.

This is with kpdf 3.4.1, though according to this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=278757
also reproducible in kde 3.4.0 and 3.4.2

The file renders perfectly fine in xpdf and kghostview. Also, I have a Gentoo
install running kde- and kpdf-3.4.1, on which the file displays perfectly.
Therefore I do not think it is an upstream kpdf problem.

Thanks!
