Ubuntu | kde-systemsettings
Summary: Systems settings does not restore properly the keyboard
layout, until logout/login
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: powerpc
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kde-systemsettings
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I was trying to enable the typing of eacute and agrave and so on (non-english
characters), and I though the Systems Settings
-> Regional and Accessibility -> Keyboard Layout -> Xkb options would hold a
clue. I pushed on third level choosers / Press
left alt key to choose 3rd level and this changed the behaviour of the apple
(command) key: it was inactive, and again the
control key had the "control" functionality. Then I unselected the checkbox,
apply, and the settings where NOT restored. I
then pushed to Reset, and settings where NOT restored. Same with pushing
Defaults.
So I logout/login and settings where fine again. Obviously something is wrong
in that panel of the System Settings.
