Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35999
Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: The networking in KDE is producing some peculiar behaviour at present. This can be seen in the way that both Konqueror and kmail are behaving. On starting KDE if it is returning to a session it is often the case that Konqueror and kmail cannot connect to the internet straightaway. This produces “page cannot be found” errors in Konqueror and “host not found” errors in kmail. After a short period they are able to connect. The network indicator on the task bar indicates the network is functioning throughout this. This is not a problem that would appear to affect firefox or other apps. The second problem affects Konqueror which intermittently will render pages peculiarly, such as on the attached screenshot. It appears to be in some way connected to network speed/load as it is more likely to happen if the system is downloading updates. It is not a page rendering problem as the same page can be handled in 2 completely separate ways depending on the time that it is visited. This is a problem that has not occurred to firefox, or strangely Konqueror run under Gnome. It can be very intrusive and cause me to stop using Konqueror and use Firefox instead so that I am able to actually surf the web. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
