the problem is still there when smil is used (application/smil mimetype).
No way to change this... kaffeine seems to be hardlinked to konqueror for smil.
You can see the bug here:

"avdio/video" - opens new window - then i get warning "smil support
rudimentary, kaffeine part will play... yes/no" in both cases crash
