This happened to me as well, after installing either from the (Kubuntu) repositories. I also installed Wine and tried to run some programs on it, I don't remember which came last. Adept manager now says it's locked out like for the OP. I'm completely new to Linux, so I can'¨t actually figure out what version of Kubuntu I have installed, but I think it's 7.04 (not sure though). How does one find this out? I never noticed any crashes or anomalous behaviors before this happened. I haven't been able to test whether java actually works though.
I'm not entirely sure what packages I installed, is there a way to generate some kind of system report or something that might be of use in troubleshooting this? Should I go ahead and try the sudo dpkg --configure -a command, or would it be useful for all the good debugging people on this forum to find out more first? -- Adept manager permanently locked up after first attempt at install on new system. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117241 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for adept in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
