So I would much prefer not to close this.

Weirdly, the KPDF project page (such as it is) states that the requested
feature exists as of version 0.4. However, I believe that although they
called it "facing pages" mode, it's really the "two page" mode.

I would have sent this request to the kpdf team directly (bypassing
kubuntu) except that I can't find anywhere to post such a request with
any confidence that it would elicit a response from the kpdf developers.
