I have the same/similar problem and I DO have 2 drives (the second/slave one is my CD writable one).
I had a similar problem in Gutsy but upon freshly installing Hardy I could burn iso's easily. The problem seems to have happened after an update. RLIMIT_MEMLOCK...is that part of the problem? What does it mean?
