I finally managed to compile 2.02. It turns out that Kile needs the kdelibs4-dev pakcage so you need to sudo apt-get install kdelibs4-dev The older KDE libraries which I installed were not sufficient, and conused the ./configure script. Installing the newer version will remove these older libraries. It would be nice if KILE2.02 is made into an ubuntu package.
