I always take photo in "best" quality (in general quality 98~99) in camera 
preferences, and recompress it on the computer. In that way, my recompressed 
photo has a size between 500Kb and 2Mb (depending of the complexity of the 
photo) : the compression is "quality-based".

If I directly take photos in "normal" quality, all photos has
approximatively the same size (often 1.1~1.2Mb), whatever the photo is
complex or very simple (the compression seems "size-based").
