I'm not sure if this is just not implemented (never tried other KDE4
distros), but the display-switch key flashes the currently active
display, and does nothing useful. This is very annoying, as I can't rely
on it to work when, for example, I'm finished working at an external
monitor, suspend, go elsewhere without a screen, then resume and want
toggle the display outputs as necessary.
So my first question - is there a way this is supposed to work and I'm
encountering a bug, or is this simply not implemented in Kubuntu? (There
are MANY display/desktop-adjustment related issues I'm having, so it's
possible that some service/daemon that's supposed to take care of it is
not starting or something)
If it's just not implemented, I'd have some ideas how to deal with
display switching...
Note that the key is getting recognized by X (xev output):
