according to http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/FAQ#How_do_I_play_audio-CDs
inserting the disc should be enough. the cd should show up in location
collection.

kubuntu 10.10 here
currently with kubuntu kde 4.6rc2 packages


can play the content using mplayer
