I just did a dist-upgrade on another machine and am seeing this same
issue. This machine is not using dual monitors.

Konsole starts in what appears to be fullscreen mode with no menubar. I
can right click and select 'Show Menubar' or press Ctrl+Shift+M, but
nothing happens!

I found the reason for the problem on this machine, however!!

Open up ccsm (CompizConfig Settings Manager) and go to the 'Workarounds'
plugin. (It's in the Utilities section).

Deselect the option 'Legacy Fullscreen Support'.
Close & re-open konsole and the menu should appear in the unity bar.

Now, this still doesn't fix the original problem with mplayer and
mythtv-frontend that I was having. These apps should be fullscreen without the
unity bar, but it is still shown at the top unless the legacy fullscreen
support is enabled. I haven't done much research on the reasoning behind this
workaround yet....

Does anyone know why this workaround seems to be the only solution for
this? It has caused problems for me in both konsole & cairo-dock (now
glx-dock) in the past!
