Seems like accented character sequences (dead keys) are enabled as it affects kdm and most everything in KDE. The following are affected on a US keyboard: ~ (tilde) ` (grave accent) ' (apostrophe) & (ampersand) ^ (caret) " (double quote)
To generate these characters they need to be entered twice. Really annoying with passwords. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde-workspace in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005309 Title: KDM login fails with extended character password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-workspace/+bug/1005309/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
