Public bug reported: KTp works best when the presence applet is available in order to control presence, and indicate when you are online. Without it the contact list will raise a dialog every time it is closed.
When merging KTp was discussed on the Kubuntu mailing list it was said that this would happen. I've just discussed with my team hiding the applet if you have no accounts, so this won't affect people who don't use IM, we can get this in 0.5.1 ** Affects: kubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Rohan Garg (rohangarg) Status: New ** Affects: kubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Rohan Garg (rohangarg) Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kubuntu-default-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1049976 Title: KTp Presence Applet should be added to the system tray by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1049976/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
