What I was trying to do was report a crash in Konqueror using apport- bug, which had been started automatically. apport-bug offered to install the debug symbols, but when I clicked to install them, kubuntu-debug- installer popped up the box saying "Looking for debug packages" for about half a second and then quit.
"kubuntu-debug-installer --help" says: Usage: kubuntu-debug-installer [Qt-options] [KDE-options] [FILES] [...] Arguments: FILES Files to find debug packages for I now see that kubuntu-debug-installer quits silently after about half a second whether or not FILE exists, and whether or not debug symbols exist for FILE if it does exist. "apport-bug konqueror" pops up an alert saying "The problem cannot be reported: This is not an official Ubuntu package. Please remove any third party package and try again." kde-baseapps-dbg is installed. $ wajig listfiles kde-baseapps-dbg |grep konqueror /usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/libkonquerorprivate.so.4.12.0 /usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/kde4/libkdeinit/libkdeinit4_konqueror.so /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/konqueror -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Kubuntu PPA. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1263990 Title: Debug symbols for Konqueror 4.12.0 missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/1263990/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
