More info. I logged in as myself, then created a brand-new user foo. I logged out and logged in as foo. My kwin_x11 was not running, but for some reason my process was. (See image)
I did nothing else (other than open the terminal, but I know from other trialls that this is not necessary to see the kwin_x11 hang) and logged out. Then I logged in as mgolden again. In this case both the /usr/bin/kuiserver5 and the kwin_x11 were both running - the latter pagging as always. This demonstrates that it has nothing to do with something in my son's home directory. ** Attachment added: "Logged in as foo, my /usr/bin/kuiserver5 still running" https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/1399855/+attachment/4275250/+files/notdead2.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Kubuntu PPA. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1399855 Title: kwin_x11doesn't stop after logout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/1399855/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
