Public bug reported: Since switching to systemd the Kubuntu live CD no longer boots into a live desktop.
It'll boot into ubiquity-dm and on clicking Try Kubuntu it'll kill ubiquity and just show a blank screen. It can't then switch vt at all. I did get it to boot into a desktop once by switching vt first before clicking Try Kubuntu. This is something to do with sddm, ubiquity-dm and systemd. When we used upstart it skipped over ubiquity-dm because I could not work out how to get the vt transition to work. sddm likes to work on vt 1 while ubiquity-dm likes good old vt7 ** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Status: New ** Tags: kubuntu ** Package changed: kwallet-kf5 (Ubuntu) => kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Critical ** Changed in: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Milestone: None => ubuntu-15.04 ** Tags added: kubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1430428 Title: kubuntu: fix live cd boot sequence To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/1430428/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
