Thanks Scarlett! I verified the latest package you pushed to the PPA, and it's still not correct: indeed, your patch is there, but for some reason it's not in the built binary. I don't have much experience with debian packaging, and especially with quilt, but don't you need to list the patches in a debian/patch/series files in order for them to be applied?
