It would be very useful if kmail could open external references based on
domain name for displaying HTML. Perhapse an option similar to cookies
for Konqueror could be created.

This would be especially useful for corporate emails (who always seem to
have references to our intranet web server) and from emails from people
I trust. I guess it might be possible by creating filters and folders,
but that is too complicated.

It should be possible to specify this trust based on both the domain
referenced and the domain the email was received from. Additionally,
specific email addresses could be supported as well.

Sounds like a duplicate of

The latter one is a little bit younger, but has more votes and discussed
some more implementation details, thus suggest merging both to receive
more visibility (and votes).

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63780 is about rending HTML, this
bug is about loading external references. It is wrongly flagged as
duplicate and should still be open.
