2171 people awaiting execution!
The people of Siri-Sori Islam on the island of Saparua spend their days
waiting for another attack from the hostile Christian villages which
surround them. Everyday bombs are thrown or catapulted towards
Siri-Sori,
and shots are fired many times at the village. The Muslims of Siri-Sori
do
not return fire. They just wait patiently. The purpose is to annoy and
frighten the people. They are annoyed but not frightened. Their resolve
to
stay and defend themselves to the death gets stronger with every daily
bullet. They will not leave and nor will they surrender. They have
already
beaten off the enemy over twenty times. Either the Army or the Police
have
joined in the attacks and all have been beaten back by strength of faith
by
the devout people of Siri-Sori.
The neighbouring Christian villages of Ulath and Ouw to the east, and
Saparua Kota and Amalatu to the west have armed breakaway Brimob
soldiers
ready to attack. Siri-Sori have no-one but a few Laskar Jihad armed with
swords or pedang.
What is the Government together with its Police and Armed Forces doing
to
protect the 2171 people of Siri-Sori?
Do they want Siri-Sori to fall as did Iha to the north?
Do they want a Christian island? That way there would be no more
Christian
attacks on Muslim villages.
Is it easier for the Government to let Siri-Sori be wiped out rather
than
defend it?
Will the blood of innocent men, women and children be spilt on their
hands?
Who can persuade the Government to help save the lives of these people?
No one has reported this situation and it is possible that the
Government
in Jakarta does not even know about it.
If this is published in every Indonesian newspaper, perhaps someone will
wake up!
