Greetings, I am trying to duplicate what I have done with the Free version of VmWare server, with KVM. Linux, Fedora 7 host and Fedora Core 3 guest..
Since the KVM with fedora 7 is not current I decided to try and build KVM from source. After discovering the gcc 3.4. requirement, I did build/install gcc 3.4.6. I now have the issues in the attachment. One of my questions is: Why does KVM require gcc 3.4?, when the Kernel builds with 4.x. I built and am running kernel 2.6.22.5, with gcc 4.1.2, which is what comes with Fedora 7. Should I just hack the build process for KVM and remove the requirement for gcc 3.4? Should I expect the performance of a KVM configuration to exhibit better performance characteristics than the free version of VmWare server? Thank you for any help or comments you car to supply.
