Not appreciably except POSSIBLY in VERY a rural environment.  You should get 
the same overall volume at 18K, 25K, or 50K feet from the CO.  The phone 
company usually deploys SLCs that MUX into T1 lines in areas that are very 
far from a proper CO, or even install remote switches.

Other than installin an ISDN line or T1/PRI?  Nope.

It did not cause us to have white noise and makes conf calls between CO 
lines or from CO line to our Digital lines (PRI) very clear, or at least a 
whole world better.
