Thanks Donald and all,

I know we could change the FWD/DND lamp to "steady" in the later versions of 
the TD series, guess this is not an option on the TA824.

The thing that was driving me crazy was the DSS buttons were also flashing 
for all stations with FWD set.....both Steve and Shawn pointed me in the 
right direction on that one...it's in System,Detail, uncheck DSS lamp mode.

Thanks to all who offered assistance...I read TFM, and stared at that 
computer screen for an hour without seeing it...so much for being old I 
guess...
