Follow-up: I've done some extensive testing using the built in modem in the KX-TA824 and am happy to report that it works well ... with this finding...
Using Verizon copper lines at both ends ... not a hitch. Total download time about 9 minutes [compared to 3 minutes with a direct USB connection. However, when I tested using VoIP at either end or at both ends, the call was dropped and final connection was never accomplished. If anyone has been successful programming with VoIP at either end, I would like to know. Happy and Healthy New Year to all!!!
