If this is on a copper line, it may be a high impedance short on the incoming line, usually a Telco repair. I have found this often, especially if you have a dial tone for outgoing calls.
Put a butt set at the interface with the house side disconnected. If the call cuts out after the first one to two rings, it's Telco. Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul R.
