I set this up with the new TVA50 voicemail and a dash 7 TD (it is an 816). Works OK depending on how reliable the Telco hookflash works.
Callers choose specific option from Custom Service menu (press 1 to transfer...). There is silence during the transfer period before it starts ringing at the other end. Another option would be the cell phone transfer with a PRI, but I'm guessing PRI is not available if DSL is not available... although you never know! There are flex PRI packages that incorporate data, too. Who is the Telco? That is not the same as forwarding an extension though, the caller has to make a selection from a custom menu. I had a customer with Centrex and they had a speed dial feature through the centrex as well, this let us program a few options for getting transferred outside. Let me know if you need more details on that. Then they needed more flexiblity and we got a call-diverter box (I think it was from Viking or possibly Sandman.com) That box sat on an analog extension and was able to send the hookflash to the outside line and transfer a call. The better method is with the newer TDA or TDE and TVA voicemail. The TVA can send the hookflash back to the phone line and transfer the call. I think it only works with the TDA or better ksu, I'm not sure about the TD. I have a office set up to do that on weekends. Now I did NOT set it to play music on hold or to wait for the outside party to answer. I have it set to transfer and hang up. I believe it can monitor the call and divert to voicemail if you play with the timers and settings. I didn't want to take the time for this install.
