With the KX-TD7896, I started using the following and it has helped allot:
1. Program the extension to dial out on the "idle" line. [This way customer
just has to hit the green button to get dial tone.]
2. If they want Intercom, they push the INT button and dial the extension,
or 330, or 43, as needed.
3. On the display screen, I preprogram the location name so they know where
the base is located.
4. I preset it to AUTO ANS and then they can answer intercom hands free.
5. I program label in each cordless the "F-Key" name so that a simple right
jog will display the Key functions.
It takes some time but I build programming into the price.

One of the techs on this forum indicated he had a few
7885s.Might be the way to go? New batteries might be
required? Easy to use!
