I've got a KX-TD816 that does that... Eventually it locks up, so I know its a
logic board.  Not sure if its the CPU or the line interface part.  It was very
frustrating to figure out, and I just ended up swapping it out with another KSU.

The noise you're hearing is digital junk generated within the box.
