The ring on the 1232 is not in cadence with the phone company. There is a delay of when the actual ring is. 1 ring cycle is typically 5 seconds. The caller ID come in during the silent period of the first ring. So it may certainly be possible that phones will ring prior to getting the caller ID at the phone. It does take a little time for the caller ID card to get the info and pass it along. The ring actually is during the silent period when you call in. So to combine all this info, the phone company sends the call to you and it could start anywhere in the first ring cycle. If it is silent, there will be a ring at your phones, then you hear the ring tone, at this point, the caller ID is passed along, 2.5 seconds later is a silent period which will ring your phone. The caller ID on the 1232 will not display if the phone is not set to ring. Now you don't mention any VM or attendant at all, but if this is in the path, there is a delay there as well to send the caller ID throughout the system and to the VM. % seconds and one ring is not uncommon at all for passing caller ID through. Even at my home with a regular phone, I get a ring then I get the caller ID. Time is @5 seconds. Your system is fine. More info is that ringing done on the Panasonic and others is in groups. You could hear a number of phones ring as it moves around the cycle in the cabinets. Again, you have no issues from what I can tell at this point.
I don't believe you got immediate caller ID on the first ring without a few seconds passing by. Could it be you activated some extensions that now ring that did not before and you are just hearing those. The only setting is to check EXTENSION 101 to see if it is set for delayed ring. I suggest you do not mess in the system unless you know exactly what you are doing. Some features are interactive with others. F you have a modem on the system, I could easily beam in and take a peak at it for you, other than that, I really don't see an issue from what you have said. I have a TD-1232-7 dual cabinet system loaded. Recently when i'm on the phone and someone else calls in (station 101), I see the line button blinking and hear the phones ringing in other area's but not on station 101 for about 5 seconds or so and then it rings and shows who's calling in. The LCD display is also delayed with the ringing. The phone used to ring and display CID immediately when I was on the phone, now there's a delay before the call rings and CID displays when off-hook. If i'm not on the phone the LCD and ring works immediately for inbound calls. I'm not sure what feature or option to look at. Any idea's? Thanks! _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
