Are the DDI numbers? If so, I am not sure about Panasonic, but on most
(all?) ISDN pbx's you can configure the system to divert specific DDI's to
specific extensions (there main function I would have thought), so although
it might be a rather ugly solution, if you can spare an extension for each
company, you could just have a bank of phones in front of the operator.

Possibly someone else might be able to suggest something with DDI delivery
to a virtual extension - which could then somehow be used to let the
operator know which extension (company) was ringing. Then answer the call
from the operators position using a speed dial (each speed dial set to do
the specific extension pickup)? Not sure if that would be possible, it
depends how flexible the virtual extensions are - mainly if they are able to
let the operator know they are ringing.

Subject: KX-T: Providing a personal answering service in a specific company
name?

Hello there,

I have just had installed (recently) a KXTD1232 which is connected to 4
ISDN lines providing 8 channels.

I have 18 telephone numbers (Virtual) which some are directed to a
specific extension and others come through the main switchboard.

What I was hoping could happen was if somebody dials (from the outside)
a specific number then this number would come through the switchboard
with some visual identification i.e. the telephone number and/or an
alphanumeric name

This would enable us to provide a kind of answering service for other
companies as the receptionist could answer

"Good morning, Company XYZ how can I direct your call"

and again if somebody rings a different number then this would good
visual identification on the switchboard as "Company Test" she could
again answer in there name

"Good morning, Company Test how can I direct your call"

I spoke to the people who installed my PBX and they said it wasn't
possible because the numbers are virtual numbers and I would have to
specifically assign one channel or one of the ISDN lines to that company
which obviously I can't do, as I only have 4 ISDN lines.

Can anyone tell me a way round this and if it is possible.

We are trying to offer mailing addresses and telephone answering service
that is answered in THAT company name but currently it seems it isn't
possible.

Any help or information anyone can offer would be gratefully appreciated

Regards

Ian
