The signs (posted over freeway bridges) were seen by over four million California drivers. They cost a total of $35 to make. Ten thousand commuters reading what you have to say: Priceless ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://www.freewayblogger.com/index.htm Anything you can see while driving is a place you can put a sign. The more difficult it is to reach, the longer it'll stay up. Tens, even hundreds of thousands of people can drive by a sign before one of them takes so much as five minutes to go take it down. Apart from actual prisoners, you won't find a more captive audience than people in their cars. Safety First: Like anything else, free speech is fun until someone gets hurt. Signs should be placed on the INSIDE of fencing, NOT suspended directly over traffic. So long as your letters are at least six inches tall, they'll be perfectly legible through the fencing. Why It Matters: You'd think with our vast media of radio, TV and computers, something as simple as sign posting might be considered quaint or unnecessary, much the way the Bush administration views the Geneva Conventions. All I have to say to that is that in January of 2004, 70% of Americans thought that Saddam Hussein was somehow behind the attacks on 9/11. So much for the "Age of Information." The sorry fact is that on any given day, as Americans, we're bombarded with about 4,000 images and messages. Of these, all but a handful are generated by corporations and, not coincidentally, about 95% of them are lies. In other words, people need to know what you have to say even more than you need to tell them. Go wild FREE SPEECH - USE IT OR LOSE IT pass it on~ ------------------------ Yahoo!
