Case of David Meza Argueta: the 400 murdered & 600 disappeared women in
Chihuahua MÃxico is a national/international tragedy. The case of David Meza
is
another example of the lack of justice in MÃxico today.

David was agitating so that the government would solve the disappearance of
his cousin Neyra Azucena Cervantes. David helped organize marches & protests,
and told the mothers of the disappeared that they should not be quiet and to
demand that the Chihuahua government do more to stop the
disappearances/murders. Today David is incarcerated for a crime he did not
commit-his only crime
is that he publicly demanded justice. David has been tortured with electric
shocks, beatings & threats of drowning in order to force him to 'confess' to
killing his cousin-but the real guilty parties are the Chihuahua state/local
government & the police.

International human rights group that have formally recognized the injustice
of David Meza Arguetaâs case include Amnesty International (AI) & Mexico
Solidarity Network (MSN). Supporting/participating in this series of weekly
protests in front of the Mexican Consulate-L.A. are student activists from
Loyola
Marymount University.

A member of the Committee to Free David Meza Argueta will participate in a
press conference with Amnesty International Saturday February 5 2005 in San
Fransisco.

Press Conference/Protests: this Friday February 4 2005 10AM & every Friday
10 AM in front of the Mexican Consulate-L.A.
