Studies for Global Justice invites Community, Labor,
Political, Environmental and Economic Justice
Activists to a five session study series on:

WORKING PEOPLE IN THE NEO- LIBERAL ERA
Looking for a deeper analysis of 21st century
capitalism

We live in a time of war abroad and economic attacks
at home. Regulations that were once supposed to
protect our environment, health, and safety are being
eroded as public health, education, and retirement
programs are all on the chopping block. Good jobs are
disappearing, wages and benefits are declining, and
the minimum wage is lower (in real dollars) than it
was 25 years ago. What's going on with working people
and labor in this neo-liberal era? Is this just the
climate of the times? Is it globalization? Is it a
result of conscious policies? Are there alternatives?

This series will examine these happenings, questions
and more in five thoughtful and participatory sessions
based on our collective experiences and readings.

STUDIES FOR GLOBAL JUSTICE is a Los Angeles based
group of socialist minded activists that coordinates
study sessions on the history, nature, problems, and
complexities of 21st century capitalism. Our mission
is:

*
To provide an inclusive and respectful space for the
discussion, debate, and systemic and multidisciplinary
analysis of capitalism that uses popular,
participatory, and collective learning.
* To create an educational atmosphere that bridges
activism and study.
* To encourage participants to use this learning not
only for their own intellectual development, but also
as a means for generating power for political and
social change in their communities and for creating
viable democratic socialist alternatives to the
capitalist system.
