This Sunday & Monday - Memorial Day Weekend, May 29 & 30 Volunteers are needed at the ARLINGTON WEST MEMORIAL in Santa Monica (just next to pier) Sponsored by Veterans For Peace This memorial gives people who visit it a chance to think about the real cost of war ~ Over 1600 crosses (in the sand) acknowledging U.S. Soldiers killed in Iraq ~ The IRAQI deaths are also recognized ~ A wall including names, ages & hometowns of the soldiers stands in front of the crosses ~ HELP VOLUNTEER FOR ~ 7:30 AM set up on Sunday morning or ~ 7:00 PM take down on Monday evening The memorial will not be taken down Sunday evening ~ Hosts needed during the day to greet and speak to visitors ~ More information at: 323-312-2617 or 323- 650-8166
