The Meaning of "Broken Windows" Fred Moten, professor of African American Studies and English at USC & poet

Dr. Moten will examine how the theory works on the streets of Los Angeles and show links of both the theory and Bratton to the Manhattan Institute, a right-wing think tank. "Broken Windows" proponents claim that by policing minor infractions or "disorder" police can prevent more serious crimes. Dr. Moten shows that "disoder" as conceived by Bratton and others has a crucial racial and racist content.
