CISPES-LA~~~ ACTION ALERT The Central America Free Trade Agreement is currently being debated in the Senate - a VOTE IN THE SENATE WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY HAPPEN TONIGHT.
Please call Senator Feinstein immediately... today and tell her to vote NO on DR CAFTA. The Capitol Switchboard is 202-224-3121. And then simply ask for Sen. Diane Feinstein's office. The Senate is generally a very pro-free trade body, and CAFTA is expected to pass. But the vote will be closer than ANY OTHER vote on a free trade agreement. Many Senators have not declared where they stand, and we should make every effort to force them to oppose the agreement. A close vote in the Senate will make it increasingly difficult for CAFTA to pass a floor vote in the House. Even if CAFTA passes in the Senate dont get discouraged, the real fight remains where it has always been, in the House of Representatives. So make sure to use the recess to press your member of Congress to vote no.
