Vermont Ave. Los Angeles. 90044 (South of Slauson) All around us, we hear talk about failing schools and poor education for our children. But parents, community activists, students and teachers are not included in the discussions or the decisions being made about our kids. The Los Angeles Campaign for Quality Education as a Civil Right is hosting its third community dialogue about public education. The last dialogue centered on how to build this movement to make Quality Public Education a Civil Right, including what "quality public education" means and how to build a wide spectrum of parent and student involvement. This third dialogue will continue that movement-building discussion. Those who took notes in the last meeting's small-group discussions are encouraged to bring them for sharing.
