International Solidarity Mission (ISM) Report Back and Discussion on the
Continuing Human Rights Violations in the Philippines

The International Solidarity Mission (ISM) was conducted from August 14-19,
2005, to uncover human rights violations in the Philippines. Over 85 foreign
delegates from 16 different countries went to the Philippines to participate in
the ISM with other local delegates and organizations. Some of the main
convenors of the ISM are Karapatan (Alliance for the Advancement of People's
Rights), Bayan Philippines (New Patriotic Alliance), Ecumenical Movement for
Justice and Peace (EMJP), and Public Interest Law Center (PILC).

Now that local delegates are back, Bayan USA is conducting a nationally
coordinated report back on the ISM that will be held in major cities in the
United States including, but not limited to, Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco,
CA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; Chicago, IL.

Especially because of the intensifying human rights situation in the
Philippines, the report backs also address the recent killings of human rights
workers and leaders of progressive organizations.

Event co-sponsored by: Anakbayan Los Angeles, Habi Arts, Bayan USA, Asian
Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA),
The Southern California Confederation of Iranians, The Jericho Amnesty
Coalition-Los Angeles, The Puerto Rican Alliance, United Farm Workers (UFW),
International Action Center (IAC) and One Korea LA Forum.
