I just received this press release from the Ministry of Communication and
Information of Venezuela regarding President Chavez's Monday 11/28 statement
on terrorism as a response to a repeatedly Washington's allegations that
Venezuela is a destabilizing factor in the region or threat to democracy as
well as Venezuela supporting subversive and terrorist groups in South America.
We all know that these kind of unfounded allegations or cheap propaganda
are being used over and over as an excuse to keep unfolding the machinery of
more bloody interventions in those countries which are not submissive to
Washington specially if the country seats on top of a huge pool of oil like
Venezuela. Canela from the Bolivarian Circle of Los Angeles "Ezequiel

BOLIVARIAN GOVERNMENT REJECTS AND FIGHTS TERRORISM
November 28, 2005
Not a single accusation pointing at Venezuela as “a destabilizing country
or as shelter for terrorists” has been proven. The Bolivarian Government does
not have to report about deals or agreements endorsed in order to achieve the
country’s integral development.
President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías,
repeated this Monday that the Venezuelan government rejects any terrorist act
in
any form and anywhere.
This comment was made during the agreement endorsed by Spain and Venezuela
in order to supply patrol boats and military transport aircraft to Caracas.
The deal took place in Miraflores presidential palace.
President Chávez made clear that the Venezuelan nation firmly condemns
terrorism as it considers it one of the most harmful manifestations of the
loss of
human values.
These words came out as a response to some opinions that point at Venezuela
as a country that instigates terrorists, and particularly to some information
published a few days ago about ETA members training subversive and terrorist
groups from South America that later go to this region in order to unleash
terror.
“Washington is still accusing us of destabilizing this region, of being a
threat to democracy, of being shelter of terrorist and subversive movements in
this region. Not a single one of such accusations has been able to be proven
for almost seven years because they are absolutely false and capture the
unworthy nature of the US government. This government tells the world
bare-faced
lies to invade and slaughter peoples, like the Iraqi one, destroying entire
cities but not precisely with patrol boats and transport aircraft,”
emphasized president Chávez when he referred to the legal procedures for
clarifying
the death of public prosecutor Danilo Anderson, who was murdered by a C-4 bomb
placed in his car on November 18, 2004.
He also added that “…placing a bomb under Danilo Anderson’s seat,
activating it with a mobile phone and then calling each other (the
perpetrators and
the brains behind this murder) laughing and saying: ‘the man is set on fire…’
and celebrating with good whisky because the man was set on fire… Those who
do that are not human beings, they look like one… It is as you were saying –
referring to the Spaniard Defense Minister – ‘a soldier could be using a
uniform, but if he does not love his country, if he can not sacrifice
everything for his country, he is not a real soldier… the same happens with
humans. A
terrorist is not a human being.”
Commander-in-chief Chávez pointed out that some countries divide terrorism
into good terrorism and bad terrorism. “Luis Posada Carriles, the biggest
terrorist in Latin American history, is in the United States sleeping like a
baby, as he said once.”
Chávez remembered some terrorist attacks perpetrated by Posada Carriles, who
placed a bomb in a plane of Cubana de Aviación in 1976, killing more than 70
people. He managed to escape after he got arrested by Venezuelan
authorities. Today, 29 years later, Posada Carriles is in the United States
and
Venezuela is waiting for his extradition.
No need for explanations
President Chávez assured that Venezuela is walking the way of the integral
development, a process boosted by pure democracy.
In this sense, he said that when Venezuela strengthens bonds with other
governments, it does not have to explain anyone and “especially under an
imperialist pressure caused by sovereign decisions of Venezuela and other
legitimate governments that cooperate with Venezuela’s integral development in
the
political, economic, social and military framework. Orlando Maniglia was
talking
about all the national power we need in order to apply the national strategy
and to achieve the objectives set by our national policy,” he said.
He assured that Venezuela is developing this process in spite of the
imperialist wishes of preventing our development and independence. “Enough is
enough! Our peoples have the same right Spain, France, Italy, the United
States
have to be free and live under better conditions every day. That is the only
thing we long for and that is why we are tirelessly working… We will work with
no rest as long as God and our people want,” he said.
