#2 Video Night in Huntington Beach Thursday, March 30th
Coastal Convergence Society Video Night
Cherrywood Village Clubhouse Huntington Beach CA
Thursday March 30, 2006 7-9pm
Thursday is video night. I'd like to watch Breaking the
Spell, a Pickaxe production about the Battle for Seattle
in late 1999. This seminal event brought the
antiglobalization movement to our shores. As we
pass the third year anniversary of America's war with
Iraq and Afganistan there are many lessons to be learned
from those that organized the events in Seattle and Eugene.
When spider webs unite they can tie down the lion.
As always, if you have a DVD you would like us to watch....
we vote on the evening's selection from what is brought
to the table.
Please spread the word. This is a great way for us to
grow as a family and educate each other as to the best
path to take to a world free of war and the threat of war.
We seek a society with equity and justice for all and
community where every person's potential may be
fulfilled...we seek a world restored.
Hope to see y'all soon.

ORANGE, CA.----Controversial media critic Robert Jensen,

in America" by conservative pundit David Horowitz, will present
his ideas in his speech, "The Media: Citizens of the Empire" on

The speech will be part of the ongoing Colloquium series

Empire fueled by information technology, commercial
ambitions and military might. He will offer a progressive,
provocative, stinging, yet thoughtful, view of the situation.
Robert Jensen is the author of The Heart of Whiteness:
Confronting Race, Racism And White Privilege (2005), and

We have decided to move our serving day and free

Some new projects within San Clemente Food Not
Bombs have been:
providing clothes, house supplies, appliances, and anything
else donated that would be of use to the lower income families
which we work with in our community.
Books Not Bombs. BNB collects and redistrubutes reading
material, preferably progressive and historical writings,
and offers them to the community at no cost. BNB looks to
collect, among others, childrens books to be distrubuted to
Las Palmas Elememtary School, located across from the
park which SCFNB serves at.
Finally, SCFNB has begun a small collection of youth working
to send items and love into the prison industrial complex.

#7 Every Sunday evening in Huntington Beach:
"Peace vigil every Sunday night at the foot of the
Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm
It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".
We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile quietly at those who aren't. We hold this vigil
in a spirit of dignity and respect for all as we try
to build bridges with those who don't share our
philosophy.
Please bring a candle or just help us hold up our
banner (no signs please; we have our banner!)
