Films For Peace presents: "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil"

The goal of this film is to give hope to the developed world as it
wakes up to the consequences of being hooked on oil, and to lift
Americans' prejudice towards Cuba by showing the Cuban people as they are.

It's a story of their triumph over adversity, and a story of
cooperation and hope.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 7 PM

CAFE BOLIVAR
1741 Ocean Park Blvd.
Santa Monica, CA 90405

(on Ocean Park Blvd. at the NW corner of 18th St.)

This cafe has astonishingly good food! Come early and enjoy wonderful
soup, salad and/or sandwich. Or try their "arepas" -- but they do
take time to make. It's a small perfectly grilled round cornmeal
"pancake" stuffed with various fillings -- cheese, avocado, chicken
or mango. Their lush drinks include Iced Cappuchino, iced Latte and
iced Mocha and fresh juices.

On screen menu is at:

Come early and enjoy delicious food.

The discussion after the film will be led by a young woman who is in
the film! Rachel Bruhnke, who led a group to Cuba in December,
specializes in the research of sustainability policies in Cuba and
their relevance to U.S. communities and decision-makers. She has an
M.S. in Environmental Engineering related to her research on
renewable energy policy in Cuba. Ms. Bruhnke was a Peace Corps
Volunteer in Honduras for 3 years, and has traveled and worked
extensively throughout Latin America. She is founding director of the
nonprofit organization CUSSP (Cuba-US Sustainability Project) which
supports environmental understanding between the United States and
Cuba. She can be contacted at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
